Lebrecord Agenda Code
<iframe src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?title=Lebrecord%20Calendar&showDate=0&showTabs=0&showCalendars=0&mode=AGENDA&height=400&wkst=1&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&src=lebrecord%40gmail.com&color=%23A32929" style=" border-width:0 " width="250" height="400" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
Just copy and pate the code into your page, or wherever you want to display it.
I found it nicer than the calendar view on the side of the blog.
Don't forget that you can control the width and the height by changing the 220 and the 400 as you want.
If you want to have a specific color for the background, let us know and we will provide you with the code.

QRecord Quarter 3 Project
You are invited to participate in the quarterly project of the online magazine for the visual arts www.lebrecord.com
Our third Q Record project for the year is:
There are a lot of equipment, things, stuff, that are native to Lebanon, or have been adopted and transformed by the Lebanese culture, whether out of necessity within a certain field or space, or place, or within a certain industry. These things have very specific shapes that are unusual in certain ways, and speak of a mode of development, and contribute to the overall definition of that culture.
The Q-Record project for the third Quarter of 2007 explores these items or pieces of equipment, as art. Whether in photography, painting, sculpture or any other domain within the visual arts field.
You are requested to submit your entries for this project addressing these things and their shapes.

Tony Faddoul Exhibition Photos
Artist statement
There is a creative part in every person, whether an artist or not. It is the challenge of the artists, today, to bring that side out. My conception of modern art, or the art of the third millennium, focuses on the 4th dimension, that is the creative thinking.
A piece of art should narrate a story, people should tell stories about it, or read something in it. Paintings or drawings should approach people and get them to extract the fourth dimension in every art work. Even if people reached different conclusions, or ended up telling different stories about an artwork, the basic idea is to wake up the creative thinking in everyone.
The way people approach the objectives in fine art does not have to match what the artist had in mind, as the fourth dimension has two faces; one from the artist side, and one from the viewer/observer. Many people can see their own thoughts and ideas expressed in paintings or drawings that they did not make.

Further information:
1-What is the goal of the project? It is not a competition (yet). It is an push to stir the creative effort of the Lebanese artists and designers into a specific area where artworks, designs, and productions are lacking, so that they might develop something out of it eventually.
2- What about copyright? All artists retain the copyright and intellectual rights of the materials for their artwork. Lebrecord.com will publish the artwork, and will have the right to republish that specific piece later on, let's say at the end of the year, when we will re-publish the material on paper, or when we will publicize the work of the artists and the materials that are published online. We will retain the right to publish that specific drawing with credits to the author, let's say, on a postcard collection of select heroes from the publication. The purpose is to advertise the artist, and give her/him exposure.
3- Who are we targeting with our submissions? We are targeting everybody with our submissions. The style is left to the artist. We will publish all the entries that meet the criteria we set, with credits to the artist. Please remember that we are not classifying. We are only disseminating.
4- What's in it for the artists? Publicity and exposure. We are a non-profit organization. Our aim is to disseminate artwork of Lebanese visual artists. We are planning for the magazine to self sustain itself through a couple of advertisements, and the store, where we will be selling some postcards, and perhaps T-Shirts. We are all artists, Graphic designer, architects, etc. who realized that there is no proper outlet, especially on the internet, for disseminating the work of Lebanese artists. It's a collaboration project.
